Top Tips for Bead Loomers: The Magic of Sticky Suff Remover!

Beadalon stackable containers - invaluable to bead loomers!

I love Beadalon stackable containers! I've been using them to store my seed beads for donkey's years and recommend them whenever bead loomers seek my advice on bead storage.

Bead colour names on the front
Make and size of bead on lid
Bead codes on the back

I label them with the bead colour name and bead code using sticker sheets from WHSmithThe labels stick perfectly with no worry of them dropping off.

The labels stick well but can be hard to remove
Never fear! There is a handy solution!

This is reassuring, however from time to time when having a reshuffle of my collection I do need to thoroughly remove the stickers. Unfortunately they don't usually peel off in one piece! Luckily I have a secret weapon up my sleeve - Sticky Stuff Remover by De.Solv.It 👍

Grab your stuff

Not much is needed, just a cloth or duster, your bottle of Sticky Stuff Remover and something to work on. Here, I am using my green self-healing cutting mat that I use for gluing and other bits and pieces.

Self-healing mat as work surface

Pour a little Sticky Stuff Remover onto your cloth (you'll find a little goes a long way) and dab it onto the labels. After letting it soak in a moment or two you will find the stickers begin to easily scrape away.

Only a little solution is needed
Dab it on
It begins to scrape away!

They will peel off with ease leaving you with a pile of used labels and a near spotless surface!

Peels off with ease!
All done
Not bad!

A quick buff with your duster and Bob's your uncle! Sparkling clean bead containers ✨

Just a little buff is needed
Voila!

It also works a treat on glass jars with stubborn glue, and for many other applications! If you want to try Sticky Stuff Remover it can be found on Amazon and at Lakeland stores.

Also works great on jars!

Seed bead mad (not just looming crazy!)

As you will learn in future blog posts, I was fascinated by seed beads before I’d even heard of looming! Shall I do a blog series about my collection?

A load of looming looms!

Hi there all you loomers and loom fans! Something’s looming! This is an aerial view of some retro looms from my collection. Don’t they look fun? Some are by kids toy manufacturers, some are from craft suppliers. Some I don’t know who they were made by! Stay tuned for a series of blog posts about my looms!
